Sales Director- Houston, TX

About the Job

We are seeking an experienced sales professional to oversee a multifaceted sales strategy for the selling of books, e-books, games, music, and other printed art forms.  The position offers work-life balance with flexible hours and options to work from home. We expect this person to be capable of achieving the position of sales director and transition into the vice president of sales, as opportunities for advancement are endless.

Duties

Primary role is to sell new and backlist titles to a variety of different accounts regionally and nationally. Duties include but are not limited to making sales calls to bookseller and distributor accounts, developing new accounts, direct marketing to retailers, quoting and closing deals, and maintaining re-orders. Detailed record keeping of sales calls attempted, answers received, order info, etc. will be expected.

Qualifications

The applicant should have experience in the publishing industry or an equivalent experience and be capable of developing new market strategies, be energetic, creative, a motivated self-starter, and have enthusiasm for a start-up environment.  The applicant should be technologically proficient and have experience with direct sales, multilevel sales, and a demonstrated track record of closing sales. The applicant should meet deadlines and goals with little daily oversight, have excellent communication skills, have a keen collaborative spirit, and be comfortable working with a remote team.

Duties include but are not limited to making sales calls to bookseller and distributor accounts, assisting with new accounts, and providing sales support as directed. Detailed record keeping of sales calls attempted, answers received, order info, etc. will be expected.

The applicant should be capable of assisting in implementing a multifaceted sales strategy for the selling of books, e-books, games, music, and other printed art forms.  The applicant should be technologically proficient and have experience with direct sales and multilevel sales.  The candidate should be capable of helping to develop new market strategies, be energetic, creative, and self-motivated.  Individuals with experience at marketing and open direct sales organizations will be strongly considered.
